Maryam Nawaz aims to make Punjab drug-free: Azma Bokhari

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on Wednesday that making Punjab drug-free is the mission of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, stressing that protecting students from narcotics is a collective responsibility. During her visit to the headquarters of the Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force, Director General Brigadier Mazhar Iqbal briefed the minister on the department’s performance and ongoing operations against drug trafficking. The meeting was also attended by Punjab Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani and Secretary Excise and Narcotics Masood Mukhtar. The minister appreciated the force’s efforts in curbing drug-related activities and termed its performance commendable. Azma Bokhari directed authorities to organise awareness programmes in universities and colleges to safeguard the youth from the menace of drugs. She also underscored the need for an effective social media campaign to spread awareness about the harmful effects of narcotics. DG Brigadier Mazhar Iqbal presented commemorative shields to Azma Bokhari and Tahir Raza Hamdani.
