RAWALPINDI(National times)- Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Saturday. A statement issued by the ISPR said Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is on a thee-day official visit to Germany where he attended the 62nd Munich Security Conference. According to the Army’s Public Relations Department, the Field Marshal met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other officials. Regional security and counter-terrorism cooperation were discussed in the meeting with the US Secretary of State. The statement added stated that the Field Marshal also met with the German Interior Minister, Foreign Affairs Adviser, and Chief of Defence. The meetings focused on contemporary security issues, bilateral defence cooperation and the need for promoting global peace and security through bilateral and multilateral dialogue. During the interaction, global and regional security situation and measures to enhance bilateral defence collaboration were discussed.
