Abid Sher Ali calls for review of net metering policy

FAISALABAD(National times)- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday demanded a review of the net metering policy. Speaking on a private TV programme, Abid Sher Ali said that this decision is not correct and added that there is resentment in the public over the government’s decision. He said that the matter should have been debated in Parliament. He said the government should have formulated the net metering policy with consensus among members and then implemented it, warning that deviation from the policy would have consequences. Earlier, during Senate session, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Leghari successfully defended NEPRA’s decision regarding solar net metering, while the House rejected, by majority vote, a resolution on solar net metering presented by PTI Senator Zarqa Suharwardy.
