Pakistan, Bangladesh resume direct flights after 14 years

KARACHI(National Times)- A new chapter has been written in Pakistan–Bangladesh ties as direct air connectivity between the two countries is set to resume today after a gap of 14 years. According to reports, Bangladesh’s national carrier Biman Airlines will operate its first direct flight from Dhaka to Karachi today, marking the restoration of air travel between the two nations. The Civil Aviation Authority’s officials in Karachi have received the flight schedule. The Biman Airlines flight will depart from Dhaka at 8:00 pm and, after a three-hour journey, is scheduled to land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at 11:00 pm. The flight will operate under the number BG-341.

Pakistan grants approval to Bangladesh airline for Dhaka-Karachi direct flights

Special arrangements have been completed at Karachi airport to welcome the arrival of Biman Airlines’ first flight. The resumption of direct air routes is considered significant for both Pakistan and Bangladesh, as it is expected to strengthen bilateral ties and improve travel and trade links. Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority had earlier granted Biman Airlines permission to resume flight operations to Pakistan. Sources said that Biman Airlines plans to operate two weekly flights between Dhaka and Karachi.
