Magnitude 3.1 earthquake jolts Balochistan’s Qilla Saifullah

QUETTA(National times)- An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale jolted Qilla Saifullah and its adjoining areas in Balochistan province in the wee hours of Wednesday, Dunya News reported. People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of Qilla Saifullah due to earthquake. According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 100 kilometres northeast of Muslim Bagh at the depth of 16 kilometres. Earlier on Monday, earthquake tremors were also felt in Dalbandin and surrounding areas of Balochistan. That quake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale with a depth of 66 kilometres, and its epicenter was located 47 kilometres southeast of Dalbandin.
