Karachi to rebuild 418 more roads under new plan

KARACHI(National times)- The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has decided to reconstruct 418 additional roads across the city. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Engineering Department chaired by Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, who also reviewed progress on ongoing development projects. The mayor stated that funds are being approved by the government and directed officials to issue tenders and begin construction work at the earliest. He said the aim is to provide improved facilities to citizens and ensure visible improvements in the city’s infrastructure. Barrister Murtaza Wahab added that, on the special instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, a special development package and funds are being provided. He emphasized that beautification should be included in every project so that roads are not only completed but also made visually appealing. During the meeting, district officers also gave a detailed briefing on the planned reconstruction of 418 roads.
