Dense fog disrupts traffic on motorways, highways across Punjab

LAHORE(National Times)- Dense fog has severely reduced visibility in several cities of Punjab, disrupting traffic flow on major motorways and national highways, on Sunday. Motorway authorities said that due to poor visibility, the M-2 motorway has been closed from Lahore to Kot Momin, while the M-3 motorway is shut from Faizpur to Samundri. In addition, vehicle entry on the M-4 motorway from Shams Kot to Abdul Hakeem has been suspended. Officials further reported that the Lahore–Sialkot motorway (M-11) has also been closed due to dense fog. Motorway Police have advised drivers to use fog lights and exercise extreme caution while traveling. Meanwhile, foggy conditions have also affected air travel. Authorities confirmed that seven domestic and international flights arriving and departing have been disrupted due to low visibility. Motorway Police have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy conditions and follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
