Nawaz Sharif inaugurates renovated state lounge at Lahore airport

LAHORE(National times)- Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated the State Lounge at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and other officials were also present on the occasion. Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif and Maryam Nawaz also visited the renovated State Lounge after its revamping was completed. Defence Secretary Muhammad Ali welcomed the distinguished guests while Pakistan Airports Authority Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed briefed the meeting. The DG Pakistan Airports Authority informed about the airport upgradation project, stating that the Ravi Lounge, entrance lobby, main hall, and other sections had been reconstructed. He added that after renovation, the State Lounge has been given a modern, new, and aesthetically enhanced look. Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its flight operations from Lahore to London. According to PIA, flights on the Lahore–London route are being restored after a gap of six years.

The first flight, PK-757, will depart from Lahore for London on March 30. These flights will land at Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airport. London is among the earliest international destinations in PIA’s network. A PIA spokesperson stated that the number of flights to London will be increased gradually. PIA has already announced the launch of three weekly flights from Islamabad to London, which will begin from March 29.
