Pakistan, Morocco sign MoU on Defence Cooperation

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Pakistan and the Kingdom of Morocco signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation, marking an important milestone in further strengthening bilateral defence and security collaboration between the two countries. The MoU was signed during an official visit by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif to the Kingdom of Morocco, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The Defence Minister held a meeting with Abdellatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration of Morocco, and led delegation-level talks focused on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He also held a separate meeting with Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco. At the conclusion of the meetings, the two sides exchanged gifts. The Federal Minister for Defence also presented a Pakistan-made football to the Moroccan Defence Minister. Prior to the meetings, the Federal Minister for Defence visited the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where he offered Fateha and signed the Mausoleum Guests Book. These engagements provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability, and cooperation. The visit reflects the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Morocco and underscores the mutual desire to further deepen cooperation in defence, security, and other areas of shared interest, the press release said.
