Several seminary students hospitalised after eating toxic food in Okara

OKARA(National times)- Several students of a seminary were hospitalized after they consumed poisonous food in Okara on Monday, Dunya News reported. According to details, students of the Markaz Umar bin Nas seminary ate contaminated food, after which codition of 12 children deterorated. Rescue officials shifted the children to the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic. Some of the affected children were later transferred to the District Hospital due to their critical condition. On the instructions of the DPO, the DSP also reached the hospital. Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed took notice of the incident and ordered that the children be provided with the best possible medical facilities. He also directed the Assistant Commissioner to conduct an inquiry into the matter. The Deputy Commissioner said that the sample of the food has been sent for further testing. Investigations will determine whether someone deliberately mixed a poisonous substance into the food or whether it was an accidental incident. If negligence is proven, strict action will be taken against those responsible.
