Pakistan to host AMAN’s 9th edition for peace promotion

Pakistan(National Times)- Pakistan will host the 9th edition of the multinational AMAN Exercise and AMAN Dialogue in Karachi, which will run from February 6 to 11. Over 60 countries including the US, China, Russia, UK, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and others are set to participate. The participating nations will be in Karachi along with their senior military leadership, naval ships, aircraft, and SSG teams. The theme is to fight against common non-traditional threats at sea with joint resolve “Together for Peace”. Global senior military leadership will also talk about collaborative maritime security in the dialogue. The AMAN series of multinational exercises was started in 2007 with a view to promote regional cooperation and stability, greater interoperability and to display a united resolve against terrorism and crimes in the maritime domain including piracy. Growing global participation in AMAN over the years underscores the trust and confidence reposed by the international community in the Pakistan Navy’s efforts and its contributions towards advancing collaborative maritime security. This has encouraged us to initiate ‘AMAN Dialogue’ as an adjunct to the Exercise and its inaugural session will be held, in tandem with AMAN-25.
