PML-N’s Shah Jehan Yousuf also backs creation of more provinces

PESHAWAR(National Times)- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has also expressed support for the creation of more provinces.Speaking on a point of order during KP Assembly session on Monday, MPA Shah Jehan said that whatever is decided [regarding creation of the Hazara province] will be done in consultation with the members. We want to separate province on an administrative basis. Under Article 239, the province has the authority, he said. He said there is a proper constitutional procedure for creating a province. “We speak for the benefit of the country. Hazara is the most peaceful division. The more provinces are created, the stronger the federation will become, and public issues will be resolved at the grassroots level.” The parliamentary leader of the Awami National Party, Arbab Usman, said that a resolution regarding the establishment of the Hazara province had been passed in this House; questioning that who benefits from this? He demanded that this is important issue that should be debated in KP Assembly. The Speaker Babar Salim Swati said that the proceedings already carried out in the House will not be debated, nor should this issue be used for point-scoring. This resolution was passed unanimously, and attempts should not be made to make it controversial.
