ISLAMABAD(National times)- A judicial magistrate on Saturday granted bail and ordered the release of Abuzar after the families of two young women killed in a hit-and-run formally pardoned him. The tragic incident occurred late Monday night near the premises of the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), when a black SUV — allegedly driven by Abuzar — struck a scooter carrying two part-time employees of an event-management company. The victims, identified as Samreen Hussain and Tabinda Batool, died on the spot from their injuries. According to the First Information Report filed at the Secretariat Police Station, the vehicle fled immediately after the crash. Police later traced the SUV by its registration number and apprehended Abuzar at a private hospital where he had reportedly gone for medical attention. Forensic samples were taken and the vehicle was impounded for examination.

On Tuesday, a local court granted police a four-day physical remand to allow investigators time to verify the medical report, inspect the vehicle, and record eyewitness statements. After the remand ended, Abuzar was produced before Shaista Khan Kundi, Judicial Magistrate at the District and Sessions Court Islamabad. During the hearing, family members of both victims recorded statements pardoning the accused: one victim’s brother appeared in court, her mother gave her testimony online, and the father of the second girl delivered his statement in person. Given the reconciliation, the court accepted the bail plea and ordered the immediate release of Abuzar.
