Code of conduct violation: ECP issues written order in case against Talal

ISLAMABAD(National times)- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday issued an interim order in the case against Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, regarding the violation of the code of conduct. According to the ECP’s order, Talal Chaudhry repeatedly violated the code of conduct. Talal Chaudhry’s request for exemption from personal appearance in the case was approved. However, he failed to provide solid reason for his absence. The Election Commission directs the respondent [Talal Chaudhry] to appear in person at the next hearing. Violating the code of conduct carries serious consequences, including the possibility of disqualification of the candidate. The ECP order also states that respondent’s brother, Bilal Chaudhry, is the successful candidate from NA-96 Faisalabad, and his notification should not be issued until further orders.
