Murtaza Javed Abbasi fined for poll code breach in Haripur

PESHAWAR(National times)- PML-N leader and Senator Murtaza Javed Abbasi has been fined for violating the code of conduct during a by-election campaign in Haripur. Acting on a notice by the Election Commission, Senator Abbasi appeared before the District Monitoring Officer, where the DMO imposed a fine of Rs40,000. The District Monitoring Officer has directed that the fine be deposited in the government treasury by November 27, along with submission of the payment challan. It is pertinent to mention that Murtaza Javed Abbasi had used inappropriate language against a female candidate during a public gathering held as part of the election campaign.
