ISLAMABAD(National Times)- Pakistan’s Foreign Office has reiterated that Afghan territory is being continuously used for terrorism against Pakistan, emphasising the country’s security concerns in regional diplomacy. During the weekly briefing, FO spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is on a European Union visit. He participated in the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Forum and met EU officials. Dar also held meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Hungary, Denmark, Slovenia, and the Netherlands, signing an MoU for student scholarships in Hungary. Prior to the EU visit, Dar attended the SCO Heads of Government meeting in Moscow from 17–18 November, where he met the Russian President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister. The SCO joint declaration addressed economic cooperation and relations with Afghanistan. The FO spokesperson strongly condemned Israeli military actions in the West Bank and desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque. He also highlighted recent arrests in India’s Red Fort bombings, with most detainees linked to Indian-occupied Kashmir, criticizing India’s attempts to alter demographics there. Pakistan continues to call on the international community and UN to address human rights violations in Kashmir. On domestic and regional issues, Andrabi stated that Pakistan maintains border closure and trade suspension with Afghanistan due to Taliban support for terrorist activities against Pakistan. Both countries maintain open diplomatic channels. The spokesperson welcomed the Turkish mediation delegation for Afghan dialogue and commented on US President’s statements regarding India and regional conflict, affirming Pakistan’s alignment with US and Chinese positions on Gaza resolutions.
