Brussels (National Times) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met today with the President of the EU Council, Antonio Costa, in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.
The meeting reviewed the current trajectory of Pakistan–EU relations, with both sides expressing satisfaction over the steady progress achieved in recent years. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the mutually beneficial partnership across political, economic, and security domains.
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister appreciated the European Union’s continued support to Pakistan at both bilateral and multilateral levels. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to deepening engagement with the EU as a key partner.
Discussions also covered a range of areas of mutual interest, including GSP+, enhancement of trade and economic cooperation, and developments in the regional and global security environment. Both sides reiterated the importance of multilateralism and agreed to maintain close coordination on issues of shared concern.
The two leaders agreed to continue working together to advance common priorities and to broaden cooperation across key sectors.
