CM Maryam vows to uproot crimes against children in Punjab

LAHORE(National times)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that crimes against children will be eliminated from the province. In her message on the International Day for the Prevention and Healing of Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence, CM Maryam said that sexual exploitation, mistreatment, and violence against children are not just crimes—they are a rebellion against humanity. “Children are my red line. I love them all, and it is our duty to protect every child,” she said. She stated that those involved in crimes against children are the worst elements of society and will be completely rooted out from Punjab. She added that Pakistan’s first Virtual Child Safety Centre has been established in the province to ensure child protection. She further said that by combining digital technology with strong governance, a secure protection system has been created for children and citizens. Punjab’s Virtual Child Safety Centre has already reunited thousands of missing children and elderly individuals with their families. The CM urged that in case any child goes missing in Punjab, people should immediately contact the Virtual Child Safety Centre.
