8 aircrafts were downed during Pakistan-India war, says Donald Trump

MIAMI(National Times)- US President Donald Trump has once again clarified his remarks regarding the number of aircraft downed during the Pakistan-India war, stating that “in reality, eight planes were shot down.” Speaking at the Miami Business Forum, Trump said, “During the Pakistan-India war, I heard reports — some newspapers said seven or eight planes were downed. One wrote that seven were destroyed and one was damaged. I won’t name any paper — most of them spread fake news.” The US president asserted that the actual number was eight aircraft, and claimed that he helped prevent a nuclear conflict between the two countries through tariff diplomacy. Trump further commented on New York’s political scene, saying, “Let’s see how Zohran Mamdani performs in New York — we’ll give him a little help,” adding that the city had “lost its sovereignty” by electing a left-wing leader. He criticised the election of a communist as mayor of America’s largest city, but said, “We still want New York to succeed.”
