World maritime conference opens at Karachi Expo Centre

KARACHI(National times)- The inaugural ceremony of the Pakistan International Maritime Conference was held at the Karachi Expo Centre here on Saturday. Addressing the ceremony, Vice Admiral Faisal Abbasi said that the aim of organising the international conference is to promote the blue economy and introduce international investors to Pakistan’s coastal resources. According to Vice Admiral Faisal Abbasi, 103 international delegations from 44 countries are participating in the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference, which is a reflection of the growing global confidence and investment in Pakistan’s maritime sector. During the first Pakistan International Maritime Conference, agreements worth $500 million were signed, of which 90 percent were finalised, which is a testament to the effectiveness of this forum and serious industrial partnerships.More than 150 local delegations and 178 exhibitors will also participate in the conference, which will run from November 3 to 6 at the Karachi Expo Center.
