RAWALPINDI(National times)- The funeral prayers of Major Adnan Aslam of Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) was offered at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, on Tuesday evening. He embraced martyrdom while under treatment at Combined Military Hospital after being critically injured during the 2nd September terrorist attack in Bannu.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 31-year-old officer hailed from Rawalpindi and had displayed extraordinary courage in repelling the cowardly assault by India’s proxy militants in Bannu.
Funeral prayers
The funeral was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, senior serving officers, civil officials, and the martyr’s family members. In his tribute, PM Shehbaz said the nation had lost “a valiant son of the soil whose courage and sacrifice will forever inspire.” He added that Major Adnan’s devotion, patriotism, and unwavering resolve reflected the very best of Pakistan.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the military leadership, expressed deep admiration for Major Adnan’s sacrifice, underscoring that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain resolute in eliminating terrorism.
