Nation celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious zeal, fervor

LAHORE(National times)- Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) is being celebrated with religious zeal and fervour in Pakistan and across the world today (Saturday), commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The sacred day dawned with 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in all the provincial capitals to pay homage to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The federal government had announced public holiday in all educational institutes and government offices for the occasion. Special prayers were offered in mosques for upholding and flourishing of Islam and unity, solidarity, progress, and welfare of the Muslim Ummah۔ Streets, roads, markets and buildings have been beautifully decorated and illuminated with lights, colours and banners bearing writings about the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). A number of activities, including processions, seminars, conferences and discussion programmes will be organised across the country to mark the annual religious event. This year the government, under a unanimously passed resolution at both Houses of the Parliament, has made special arrangements to commemorate the year 1447 Hijri as the 1500th blessed birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has chalked out a comprehensive plan to highlight the glaring aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyyeen Sallallah-o-Alaih-e- Wasallam. The main event of the day will be the International Seerat Conference to be held at Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are expected to grace the occasion. Prominent scholars, esteemed Ulema, diplomats, and delegates from both within the country and abroad have reached Islamabad to participate in the international conference. Besides International Seerat Conference in Islamabad, a national “Qur’an and Seerat Exhibition” will be held, showcasing manuscripts, publications, and digital content related to the Qur’an and Seerat. Milad processions will be taken out in all cities in which Ulema and Khateeb will highlight all aspects of life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stressing adherence to his teachings and Sunnah. Mehfil-e-Milad will also be organized in all small and major cities to highlight different aspects of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH). Various social, educational institutions and religious organizations will also organise their programmes to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious zeal and fervour.
