Residents of Katcha areas should be relocated to safer places: Aseefa

NAWABSHAH(National times)- First Lady of Pakistan and Member of the National Assembly Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Thursday directed the concerned authorities to relocate residents of Katcha (riverine) areas to safe places. She said this during her visit to flood preparedness sites along the S.M. Bund at Mudd Bungalow and Mudd Mangli point, where she reviewed ongoing relief and safety measures. She visited the most sensitive points along River Indus where potential flooding could cause severe damage. Aseefa Bhutto was briefed on the sensitive embankments along River Indus. She emphasized that residents of the Katcha areas should be relocated to safe locations, adding that no negligence will be tolerated during the flood situation. She further stated that the district administration must remain alert to deal with any emergency. She also said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will not leave the people alone in these difficult times.
