Punjab lakes being developed as tourism hubs: CM Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE(National times)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that lakes are a symbol of culture, tourism, and environment, and her government is working to transform Punjab’s lakes into major tourist destinations. In her message on World Lakes Day, Maryam Nawaz stated that lakes represent natural beauty and ecological life, serving as vital sources of water, biodiversity, and environmental balance. She added that natural lakes in areas such as Khushab, Kallar Kahar, and other regions are being preserved and upgraded. The Chief Minister emphasized that protecting the natural environment of lakes is a top priority, noting that Punjab is advancing in tourism development while maintaining ecological balance. “It is our collective responsibility to safeguard lakes for a better future,” she said.
