Imran Khan getting all facilities in jail, claims PTI chief

ISLAMABAD(National times)- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan is being provided with all facilities in jail. Talking to the media in the federal capital, Gohar said he was glad to meet the PTI founder today after three months. “It felt good, and such meetings should continue. There shouldn’t be any ban on them. I always try to build bridges,” he added. He announced that PTI will hold a massive rally in September to push for judicial independence, the restoration of democracy, and the release of its founder. Gohar maintained that Imran Khan is getting all necessary facilities in prison, including access to newspapers. He said their meeting also touched upon national and party matters, as well as the flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to him, the PTI founder expressed sorrow over the loss caused by recent torrential rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and directed the party to go all out in relief efforts for the victims.

When asked about senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja’s resignation, Gohar clarified that Raja had only given a verbal resignation, not a written one. “So, the matter of accepting or rejecting it simply doesn’t arise,” he said.
