PESHAWAR(National times)- Eight people have lost their lives in Bajaur due to a lightning strike and a cloudburst, while five people died when a house roof collapsed in Lower Dir on Friday. The incident in Bajaur occurred near the Salarzai tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a cloudburst triggered a flash flood, sweeping away eight people. Several houses were damaged, four injured individuals were pulled from the debris, and 17 people are still missing. According to rescue officials, the search and rescue operation is ongoing under the supervision of Bajaur District Emergency Officer Amjad Khan. Reports also suggest that multiple people have been injured. Local sources said that due to the cloudburst, water levels in the area rose to dangerous levels. Blocked roads have made it difficult for rescue teams to reach the affected areas. The local population is trying to rescue victims on a self-help basis.
