LAHORE(National times)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is set to embark on a five-day official visit to Japan starting today (August 15). The visit is aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and attracting foreign investment to Punjab. During her stay, the chief minister will visit the cities of Yokohama, Osaka, and Tokyo, where she is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Japanese business leaders, representatives of major corporations, and government officials. The agenda includes discussions on investment opportunities, bilateral trade, and the promotion of economic ties between Japan and Pakistan, particularly in the Punjab province. The visit is being regarded as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic relations. Officials hope the trip will pave the way for increased Japanese investment in key sectors such as technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb will also be accompanying the chief minister on this visit.
