Hajj 2026: Over 71,000 applications received in first phase

ISLAMABAD(National Times)- The first phase of applications for the Government Hajj Scheme 2026 has concluded, with more than 71,000 applications submitted through the online portal and nominated banks, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The initial round of submissions took place from 11 to 16 August and included payment of the first instalment of expenses.

Who can apply next?

In the upcoming second phase, unregistered intending pilgrims will also be able to submit applications. This stage will widen access for those who did not participate in the first phase, ensuring broader inclusion in the selection process.

How can Overseas Pakistanis apply?

Overseas Pakistanis can also participate by having a close relative submit their applications at designated banks in Pakistan. These applicants will be required to present their medical fitness certificates upon arrival in the country. The Ministry has stated that the acceptance of applications will be halted as soon as the official quota for Hajj pilgrims is filled. This announcement will be made immediately once the limit is reached, ensuring transparency in the selection process.
