Former AJK PM Abdul Qayyum Niazi detained for four days

MUZAFFARABAD(National Times)- Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, has been detained for four days. According to an order issued by the District Magistrate of Mirpur, Abdul Qayyum Niazi, along with his associates, was allegedly attempting to disrupt law and order, posing a threat to public peace. The order stated that action was taken against Niazi under Section 16 of the MPO, and he will remain in Central Jail for four days or until further notice. The former AJK premier has the right to challenge the detention order before a competent forum. The District Magistrate has also informed the Secretary Assembly of the development.  According to police sources, the PTI leader was taken into custody while traveling from Samani to Bhimber in Azad Kashmir. PTI Azad Kashmir President Abdul Qayyum Niazi has earlier instructed party workers to stage a strong protest on Aug 5. PTI is all set to launch countrywide movement for constitutional and democratic rights from tomorrow (Tuesday).
