ISLAMABAD(National times)- President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military), one of Pakistan’s highest military honours, on Saudi Naval Chief Vice Admiral, Mohammad Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Ghoraibi in recognition of his outstanding efforts to strengthen naval and defence cooperation between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The award was conferred at a special investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr which was attended by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf Bin Saeed Al Malki, and senior officers from the Pakistan Armed Forces. As per the citation read out on the occasion, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi was acknowledged as an officer of exceptional intellect, unwavering commitment, and administrative excellence. Over the course of his distinguished career, he held key command and staff appointments, earning a reputation for courage, strategic insight, and professional competence. Notably, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi is also an alumnus of the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, where he completed his master’s degree in 2005. His academic brilliance and operational leadership have been recognised, both in the Kingdom and internationally through numerous professional courses and military honours. In his capacity as the Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Al-Ghoraibi has played a pivotal role in fostering closer defence and maritime collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. His contributions to enhancing joint naval exercises, training exchanges, and strategic maritime dialogue have greatly deepened the bilateral ties.
