Brussels (National Times) A high-level delegation from Pakistan held a comprehensive exchange with Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Michael Gahler (@gahler_michael), a senior representative of the European People’s Party Group (@EPPGroup).
During the meeting, the Pakistani delegation expressed deep concerns over India’s increasing unilateral actions, particularly its abrogation of international agreements and disregard for long-standing diplomatic norms. A key issue raised was the weaponization of the Indus Waters Treaty, which the delegation described as a grave threat to regional ecosystems, transboundary water cooperation, and the sanctity of global treaty obligations.
The delegation emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peaceful diplomacy and international law, calling for greater international attention to safeguard established frameworks that ensure regional stability and environmental sustainability.
The meeting marks a continued effort by Pakistan to engage with European partners on pressing geopolitical and environmental challenges in South Asia.
