Fake News and Propaganda Have Become India’s Strategy: Dr. Irfan Ashraf

ISLAMABAD (National Times) Brigadier (R) Asif Haroon Raja, Patron-in-Chief of the Center for Development and Stability, has accused India of orchestrating multiple false flag operations since 1971 to discredit Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference held at the National Press Club Islamabad alongside Dr. Irfan Ashraf, Brig (R) Raja highlighted that India continues to stage fake attacks and blame them on Pakistan to mislead the international community.

Presenting a detailed report from his think tank, he stated that India’s intelligence agency, RAW, is actively involved in terrorist activities within Pakistan, aiming to disrupt peace and stability. He noted that incidents like the recent Pahalgam attack are part of a broader pattern of fabricated threats and planned assaults used by India to spread disinformation.

“These false flag operations not only damage democratic values but also create unnecessary hostilities in the region,” he said. Brig (R) Raja emphasized that accountability is essential to restore public trust and ensure global stability. He stressed that Pakistan has consistently advocated for transparent investigations and the pursuit of truth.

He further reiterated that RAW’s covert operations violate international justice and are intentionally deceptive. Evidence of cross-border targeted killings and fabricated narratives has surfaced, he added, and these must be confronted with strong diplomatic and strategic responses. “Pakistan has the capability to respond effectively at all levels,” he asserted.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Irfan Ashraf thanked all participants and reiterated that India’s false propaganda campaigns challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty. He criticized the Indian government and media for spreading fake news and stressed that the only way forward is through serious dialogue and a balanced foreign policy.

Dr. Ashraf assured that Pakistan is fully prepared to respond robustly and appropriately to such provocations on every front.
