Ambassador Rahim Hayat Highlights Indian Misinformation on Kashmir to OIC Envoy

Brussels (National Times) Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi met with Ambassador Abdulkhaleq Ali Saeed Bindhaaer Al Yafei, the Permanent Observer of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the European Union, for an exchange on key regional issues including Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Ambassador Rahim Hayat apprised the OIC envoy of India’s continued campaign of misinformation and distortion regarding the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K). He expressed appreciation for the OIC’s steadfast support, particularly acknowledging the recent visit of the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay, to Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The visit, he noted, reaffirmed the OIC’s commitment to the just cause of the Kashmiri people.

The two envoys also discussed the deteriorating situation in Palestine and stressed the importance of unity in advocating for the rights of oppressed populations.

Both sides agreed to enhance coordination and deepen cooperation between their respective missions in Brussels to strengthen advocacy efforts within the European context.

The meeting underscores Pakistan’s continued engagement with the OIC and its partners to keep the international spotlight on critical humanitarian and political issues.
