SNGPL announces new gas supply schedule

RAWALPINDI(National Times): Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has issued a new schedule for the supply of gas as directed by the federal government, The News reported on Friday. As per the new timetable, the consumers will now get natural gas from 6:00am to 9:00am in morning, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm in afternoon and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at night. SNGPL Executive Officer (Technical) Muhammad Faisal said, in implementation of the government’s directives, they were providing full pressure gas in schedule timings in all areas. “Sometimes, consumers face shortage of gas due to technical fault otherwise we are providing full pressure gas in schedule timings,” he claimed.  The official said that consumers will get full pressure gas in schedule timings in winter.  However, they claim majority of areas are facing low to zero gas pressure even in schedule timings. Rawalpindi Naanbhais Welfare Association (RNWA) President Muhammad Shafiq Qureshi said that all Naanbhais were using expensive cylinders in summer and winter.  The SNGPL was only sending exorbitant bills without gas, he strongly protested.  Majority of Naanbhias have removed their gas meters due to exorbitant bills without gas, he said. Talking to The News, consumers in Rawalpindi said that they were facing gas shortage even throughout summer season.
