LAHORE (National Times) The Punjab government on Thursday imposed Section 144 in eight cities.

According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, Section 144 will be enforced in Multan, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Vehari, Pakpattan, Okara, and Wazirabad.

This will prohibit all forms of political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, protests, and similar activities.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department stated that the decision to implement Section 144 was made at the request of the relevant district administration.

The measure will be in effect for three days in the eight districts, from Thursday, October 10, to Saturday, October 12.
