Senator Shibli Faraz’s name removed from ECL

ISLAMABAD (National Times) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senator Shibli Faraz’s name has been removed from ExitControl List (ECL).

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the Shibli Faraz’s application against contempt of court for not removing his name from ECL despite court order.

Shibli Faraz’s lawyer Advocate Faisal Chaudhry, Passport Immigration and FIA’ officials appeared before the court.

Additional Attorney General Muawar Iqbal Dogal was summoned urgently.

FIA lawyer informed the court that FIA had only PNIL list and Shibli Faraz’s name wasn’t included in that.

Passport Immigration officials told the court that they had removed the name from the Passport Control List (PSL) and now the name of Shibli Faraz was included in the ECL which come under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior.

Assistant Attorney General Shaista Khalid appeared before the court and confirmed that Senator Shibli Faraz’s name had been removed from ECL and PCL.

Justice Tariq Jahangiri remarked that a court order had been implemented therefore contempt plea was being discarded for becoming inadmissible.
