Punjab police officer Rafat Bukhari wins IAWP’s Excellence in Performance Award

Lahore (National Times) Punjab Police Officer SSP Rafat Bukhari has brought international acclaim to Pakistan by receiving the Excellence in Performance Award from the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).

The award was presented during the 61st annual IAWP conference held in Chicago, USA.

SSP Bukhari, currently serving with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, was recognised for her outstanding contributions to women’s safety, artificial intelligence, intelligent traffic management, and the development of road safety mechanisms.

The award is a prestigious honour given annually to one female police officer worldwide for exceptional service to their community.

IAWP President Deborah Friedl presented the award to SSP Bukhari, acknowledging her significant impact in law enforcement.

Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr Usman Anwar, and Managing Director of the Safe Cities Authority, Ahsan Younas, congratulated SSP Bukhari, noting that her achievement is a source of pride for all police officers, particularly women in the force.
