LHC orders to impound smoke emitting vehicles

LAHORE (National Times) Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to impound smoke emitting vehicles.

The petitions seeking court’s orders for eradication of smog came up for hearing in LHC Friday.

Justice Shahid Karim of LHC heard the petitions including petition from a citizen Haroon Farooq.

The court while ordering to impound smoke emitting vehicles remarked traffic police should take action against the smoke emitting vehicles and inform the respective department about it.
The court remarked fire related incidents take place in the areas in the vicinity of motorway. These should be overcome. Motorway police should take action against such incidents. IG Motorway should get implement court’s orders. Otherwise contempt of court proceedings will be initiated.
PDMA presented the report regarding heat stroke in the court.

According to report awareness campaign in respect of heat stroke has been launched. 20 water bowsers have been sent to Balochistan. One water bowser contains 12000 litter water which is being provided to the residents of that area.
