Hearing of nikah during iddat case, petition for suspension of sentence adjourned till Friday

ISLAMABAD (National Times) District and Sessions Court Islamabad has adjourned till Friday hearing of plea seeking early fixation of Nikah during Iddat case in respect of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and petition for suspension of their conviction for hearing.

Judge Afzal Majoka remarked lack of confidence has been expressed twice in this case. I cannot give such decision which creates difficulties.

Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka heard the case Thursday.

Suleman Akram Raja, Suleman Safdar and Sardar Masroof counsels for Imran Khan and Usman Riaz Gul counsel for Bushra Bibi appeared in the court.

At the inception of hearing PTI counsels informed the court about the directives of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Suleman Akram Raja said high court has directed that the petition for suspension of conviction be decided within ten days and the central appeals be decided within 30 days.

Suleman Safdar said it is requested that the sentence of Bushra Bibi be suspended before eid.

Suleman Akram counsel for Imran Khan said he is ready to offer arguments today. All have not to be obtained from high court but some thing has to be obtained from you too.

Judge remarked he will decide the petition seeking suspension of sentence before Eid. Whatever the decision will be.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till 8.30 a.m on Friday.
