Blaze erupts overnight in Lahore paint factory

Lahore (National Times) A fire broke out at a factory near the Karol Ghati area of Lahore in Wednesday’s short hours, causing explosions in the drums of thinner and other chemicals stored inside the factory.

According to Rescue officials, the fire broke out late at night at a paint factory near the Ring Road in Karol Ghati. The blaze soon overtook the entire facility. Rescue 1122 dispatched 10 to 12 firefighting vehicles to extinguish the blaze.

Rescue officials reported that the fire started around 10:30 pm. However, the cause of the fire is still not known.

They said, “The blaze broke out in the paint factory, established on six kanals. Chemical drums continued exploding that caused panic in the area.”

Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties as the factory is situated away from residential areas.

Local residents said that the chemicals produced at the affected factory were supplied to nearby factories.
