Imran, Shah Mehmood Qureshi acquitted in Azadi March, rioting cases

ISLAMABAD (National Times) PTI founder Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been acquitted in Azadi March and rioting cases.

Imran Khan , Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Ali Muhammad Khan and Murad Saeed have been acquitted by the sessions court in Azadi March and violation of section 144 cases.

Judicial magistrate Ehtesham Alam announced decision on acquittal pleas.

In the cases registered in connection with May 9 incident in police station Shahzad Town Islamabad Judicial magistrate Umar Shabbir announced reserved judgment on acquittal pleas of PTI founder Imran Khan.

The court acquitted Imran Khan in both of the cases registered in police station Shahzad Town due to insufficient evidence.

In this case the counsels Mirza Asim Baig and Naeem Panjutha had given arguments in connection with acquittal of PTI founder.

The counsels had taken plea that FIR was got lodged by unauthorized person against PTI founder. Charge under 109 was leveled against PTI founder but no evidence could be presented.
