LHC accepts bail plea of Pervaiz Elahi in illegal appointments in PA case

LAHORE (National Times) Lahore High Court (LHC) has accepted bail plea of former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab and PTI central leader Chahdhry Pervaiz Elahi in illegal appointments in Punjab Assembly (PA) case.

Justice Sultan Tanvir of LHC has announced reserved judgment.

LHC had reserved judgment on the bail plea of Pervaiz Elahi in illegal appointments in PA case in previous hearing.

The counsel for Pervaiz Elahi had informed the court anti corruption registered case with the delay of two years .

The counsel Amir Saeed Raan told the court that Pervaiz Elahi received money from no candidate in connection with appointment. He had nothing to do with these appointments. Anti corruption showed fake recovery from home of Pervaiz Elahi.

The counsel for anti corruption said case against Pervaiz Elahi has been registered as per law. Pervaiz Elahi was arrested on October 25.

Later the court reserved the judgment .

Earlier the court had dismissed bail plea of Pervaiz Elahi on March 27, 2024. Later he filed bail plea again in the court. The court had reserved judgment on March 26 on completion of arguments of the lawyers.

Anti corruption department has registered case of illegal appointments against Pervaiz Elahi and former secretary Punjab assembly. On April 28, the court had fixed the petition of Pervaiz Elahi for hearing in the month of May.
