Ishaq Dar’s appointment as deputy prime minister challenged in IHC

ISLAMABAD (National Times) After Lahore High Court dismissed a petition against appointment of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister on Thursday, a citizen moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.

Fahad Shabir through Advocate Nadeem Sarwar submitted that the appointment is a violation of Article 4 of the Constitution, the federal government violated the Constitution by appointing him as Deputy Prime Minister.

The petitioner prayed that the notification of Dar’s appointment be declared null and void and he be barred from work till the final decision of the case.

Principal Secretary to the prime minister, Cabinet Division secretary and Ishaq Dar have been made parties in the petition.
