ISLAMABAD (National Times) Islamabad High Court (IHC) has reserved judgment on PTI Founder Imran Khan bail plea in 190 million pounds reference.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said to NAB Special prosecutor Amjid Pervaiz you have no documents regarding it. All the things are verbal. Earlier I had asked if you have any order on freezing or defreezing. You said you have no documents among them with you. Have you any evidence about out of court settlement. You should talk about the evidence of which are with you.
The bail plea of PTI founder came up for hearing before division bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri Tuesday in 190 million pounds reference.
Amjid Pervaiz special prosecutor NAB gave arguments.
CJ IHC Aamir Farooq remarked are you saying that amount was got from crime.
NAB prosecutor Amjid Pervez said that amount should have come to government of Pakistan.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said you have no documentary evidence about it. All the things are verbal.
CJ IHC Aamir Farooq said the question is very simple . I am not understanding it why you are not replying. You have given reply to this question in your documents.
NAB prosecutor Amjid Pervez said Supreme Court (SC) wrote in its order this money is money of government of Pakistan. SC had maintained that this amount was sent to SC account erroneously. East Recovery Unit (ERU) presented freezing of this amount to prime minister as its success.
According to documents this amount could not move from there without the permission of National crime agency.
NAB prosecutor Amjid Pervaiz said this amount was shifted after confidentiality deed was executed. PTI founder was head of East recovery unit. That institution was subordinate to him.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said it is not written in confidentiality deed that this amount would come to SC account.
Amjid Pervaiz said he had read confidentiality deed again on inviting attention by this court. Confidentiality deed was a big fraud.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangir remarked how PTI founder is related to it.
Amjid Pervaiz said public servant cannot take gift from any body if his any matter is pending.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case on completion of arguments.
