Chairman NAB takes NA speaker into confidence on new SOPs for parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD (National Times) Chairman NAB Nazir Butt has taken speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz into confidence on SOPs about parliamentarians during meeting between the two.

Speaker NA or chairman Senate will be informed in the event of any complaint against any parliamentarian. No parliamentarian will be arrested on the basis of allegations only.
NAB has worked out SOPs with reference to parliamentarians and politicians. In the event of any complaint against any politicians or parliamentarian new SOPs will be pursued.

Chairman NAB sought help from Speaker NA for giving legal shape to new SOPs.

According to sources under New SOPs the speaker NA or chairman Senate will be informed in the event of complaint against any parliamentarians. No politician or parliamentarian will be subjected to political victimization on the basis of allegations.

Member of parliament will not be arrested at inquiry level too. No officer of NAB in any position will give statement against any person or member of parliament in media or to the people at inquiry stage. NAB officer will give statement only when reference is filed in the court.
The officer who violates these SOPs will have to undergo sentence from one month to one year besides fine.
