PCB to announce PSL 8 schedule on Friday

LAHORE (National Times) – The schedule of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to be announced on Friday, Jan 20.

According to the details, the schedule for the upcoming season of PSL has been finalised. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hold final consultation with PSL franchises.

According to sources, as per the current schedule, the grand opening ceremony of the event will be held in Multan. The tournament will be played at four venues, including Karachi, Multan, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

PSL will start on Feb 13 and the final will be held on March 19.

Earlier, the chairman of the PCB management committee, Najam Sethi, announced that the PSL season eight matches will take place in Quetta.

“I am delighted that seven years after launching the Pakistan Super League, I am today announcing our commitment to add Bugti Stadium in Quetta as the fifth venue for our marquee event. Bugti Stadium is the home ground of Quetta Gladiators and we still remember the incredible scenes when the Gladiators visited the city after winning the 2019 tournament,” Sethi said in a statement released by the national cricket governing body on Dec 23.

However, PCB has now reportedly decided to host an exhibition match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in Quetta on Feb 5.

It must be noted that player retentions were announced on Nov 11, meanwhile, the draft took place on Dec 15.
