CTD captures seven alleged terrorists in Punjab swoop

LAHORE (National Times) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Saturday to have arrested seven terrorists of proscribed outfits in operations across Punjab.

The CTD spokesman said the arrested suspects were involved in planning terrorist attacks in vulnerable cities of the province. He said explosive material, weapons and proscribed literature were recovered from their custody. The suspects included Khalid Mehmood, Mohsin Waqar, Muhammad Usman, Shair Muhammad, Lukhman Rafique and Farooq, he added.

He further said 443 combing operations had been conducted in several cities this week, in which 19,630 suspected people were frisked and 90 of them were arrested due to their connection with any banned outfit.
