CTD compound operation swiftly under way: ISPR

RAWALPINDI (National Times) – The operation to exterminate terrorists who took security officials hostage at a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) compound in Bannu is under way, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the military’s media wing said the operation would be completed soon after which more details of would be released.

It should be noted that during the operation, the security forces in Bannu killed six terrorists inside the CTD compound. Negotiations were held with the terrorists in the CTD building for two days, which remained unsuccessful, after which the security forces were given a green signal to carry out an operation to clear the compound.
