PTI takes commanding lead in third phase of AJK LG polls

MIRPUR (National Times) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken commanding lead over its opponents in the third and final phase of the Local Government (LG) elections in three districts of Mirpur division on Thursday, Dunya News reported.

District Council Mirpur

According to unofficial results, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has secured 21 out of 27 seats of the District Council Mirpur. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) bagged only three seats and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won only two seat while one seat was won by independent candidate.

Mirpur Municipal Corporation

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also emerged victorious on 23 seats in Mirpur Municipal Corporation polls. The PML-N got 13 seats while independent candidates secured nine seats. The PPP won only one seat.

Kotli Municipal Corporation

Elections were also held on 14 Municipal Corporation seat in Kotli where Independent candidates won six seats. PTI came second with four seats and PML-N got three seats. PPP won only one seat.

District Council Kotli

In the District Council Kotli elections, PTI emerged victorious on 22 seats while PML-N and PPP bagged 13 seats each. Independent candidates also won three seats.

District Council Bhimbher

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also emerged victorious in the District Council Bhimbher elections and secured eight seats. Two seats were grabbed by PML-N while one seat was won by Independent candidate.
