Farooq Sattar expresses readiness for conditional return to MQM-P

KARACHI (National Times) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leadership has offered Farooq Sattar to rejoin the party and contest the NA-245 by-elections under the symbol of Kite, Dunya News reported.

According to the MQM-P spokesperson, an emergency meeting of the party was held at was held at Bahadurabad which was chaired by Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. MQM-P Rabita Committee members attended the meeting.

The MQM-P Rabita Committee has also convened a general workers meeting on Sunday at 6;00pm in which Farooq Sattar s return to the party will be announced.

Farooq Sattar had suggested multiple times in the last few weeks that the only viable option for the Urdu-speaking community is to unite. MQM-P leadership has said that Farooq Sattar would be a very good candidate for the NA-245 by-polls.

Karachi’s NA-245 had been vacated after the demise of PTI MNA Aamir Liaquat Hussain on June 9, 2022.
